Jacques Tati's 'Playtime' | Athens | March 27

Celebrated French filmmaker Jacques Tati's 1967 comedy "Playtime," a study on six encounters in Paris between the legendary Monsieur Hulot and a group of middle-aged American women, is being screened at the George Zongolopoulos Foundation on Tuesday, March 27.

The free-of-charge screening starts at 5.30 p.m. and is in French with Greek subtitles.

In Jacques Tati's classic 1949 comedy "Jour de fete" (The Big Day), a mailman in a French village draws inspiration from American films to upgrade his services so he'll no longer be the laughing stock of the community. France plans to outlaw all petrol and diesel vehicles by 2040, its new environment minister, Nicolas Hulot, has announced, quoted by the Telegraph.co.uk.

The radical measure was one of a series he unveiled at a press conference this morning as part of French president Emmanuel Macron's plans to make France a carbon neutral country by 2050.
