Ljubljana – The congress of the Modern Centre Party (SMC) marked a new round of an unprecedented political experiment in Slovenia, the newspaper Dnevnik says in Saturday’s commentary.

Ljubljana – In his message on the holiday remembering the return of the western Primorska region to the homeland, PM Janez Janša congratulated the people of Primorska and wished them a proud celebration, adding that the holiday had been enacted out of responsibility towards our history.

Ljubljana – Prime Minister Janez Janša hosted EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell for working dinner on Saturday evening to discuss Afghanistan and the Western Balkans, Janša’s office said in a press release.

The left-liberal bloc in Slovenia is made up of four parties, for whom the polls predict a good overall result in the election. The right-wing bloc is made up of the SDS and its satellites, which have had warnings in the polls for months about the toxicity of participating in a coalition led by Jansa.

Bled – Arriving at the Bled Strategic Forum on Wednesday, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković lauded Slovenia and Croatia for bringing their relationship into a very good phase through a mature approach. He said the bilateral border issue could be tackled this government term.

Ljubljana – Prime Minister Janez Janša met Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the secretary of state of the Holy See, on Tuesday with the government reporting that they talked about the priorities of Slovenia’s presidency of the Council of the EU, relations between Slovenia and the Holy See, the Covid situation and other topical issues.

Bled – Prime Minister Janez Janša has urged the EU to return to its roots, to the basic principles laid down by the founding fathers, as he argued at the Bled Strategic Forum that this is the only way to ensure unity while preserving diversity.
