Following the recent storm, several Bulgarian municipalities have declared states of emergency. In Sofia, teams from the Directorate "Emergency Assistance and Prevention" are busy clearing broken branches and fallen trees from the streets after the storm and strong winds during the night.

Heavy rainfall is anticipated in 17 regions of Bulgaria today. According to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, an orange code for heavy rainfall has been issued for 12 regions, while a yellow code is in effect for another 7 regions.

On the eve of March 3rd - Bulgaria's national holiday, this year thousands of Bulgarians will visit Shipka to honor the memory of the heroes of the Liberation. The presence of state officials is also expected. The organization of the celebration is extremely strict to maintain public order.

Starting today, the working hours of the Shipka Monument of Freedom on St. Nicholas Peak will be changed, as announced on the official Facebook page by the National Park Museum "Shipka Buzludzha".

The monument will be open for visits from 9:00 to 17:00, with tickets available until 16:30.

A protest by families who have lost their children in accidents is taking place in Sofia today. At 8:30, they closed the intersection of "Alabin" Street and "Vitosha" Boulevard, right next to the Courthouse. The participants have requests for fairness and increased road regulation.
