Tofaş, a joint venture between Fiat and Turkey's Koç Holding, has said it will suspend production in its key plant for a nine-day period, citing shrinkage in the domestic market.

Energy giants topped Turkey's Fortune 500 list with oil refinery Tüpraş, owned by Koç Holding, being the champion with a net sales revenue of 53.9 billion Turkish Liras ($14.8 billion) in 2017.

Carmakers were ranked as one of Turkey's largest three exporters in 2017, with Ford Otosan, a joint venture between Ford Motor and Turkey's Koç Holding, topping the list with an export volume of $4.79 billion.

Koç Holding’s Otokar has said it has submitted a proposal to Turkey’s defense authorities to bid in a tender for the mass production of the country’s indigenous battle tank Altay.

Defense giant Aselsan, 85 percent of which is owned by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, became the most valuable company listed on the Istanbul main stock exchange (BIST) on Nov. 14, surpassing Garanti Bank and Koç Holding early.

Turkish appliance giant Arçelik aims to grow Asian sales to $1.5 billion within five years, CEO Hakan Bulgurlu told The Nikkei in a recent interview on May 30, noting how the global economy's center of gravity is moving eastward.

A partnership of Turkish white goods maker Arçelik and LG Klima will produce commercial air conditioners with the LG brand, extending their agreement until 2023, it said on May 3, as reported by Reuters.

The partnership plans an investment of some 200 million liras ($57 million) in commercial air conditioners and new technology, Arçelik Turkey CEO Can Dinçer said in a statement.

Turkish home appliances maker Arçelik is working on acquisitions to speed up its international expansion, particularly in Asia, its chief executive said on March 20.
