Kostis Palamas

After years of abandonment, the house in the Plaka district of Athens once belonging to the celebrated Greek poet Kostis Palamas, will be restored and given a new lease on life as a landmark and as a place to exhibit his work and to study modern Greek literature.

My friend and Kathimerini commentator Takis Theodoropoulos has a point when he writes that "there is no racism in Greece, to the extent that the 'noble souls' want to present it." Things are, in fact, even worse, if we look at the big picture.

Police on Friday were investigating an attack carried out with gas canisters at the offices of the National Institute of Labor and Human Resources in central Athens.

The explosion, which occurred shortly before midnight on Thursday, caused damage to the office entrance on Kostis Palamas Street.
