Unidentified assailants used a explosive device to blow open an ATM outside a supermarket in Koufalia, northwest of Thessaloniki in northern Greece, early on Friday.
Police are seeking the perpetrators who are believed to have fled with an undetermined sum from the cash machine.

A group of people deliberately crashed their van into the car of a 69-year-old man on a highway outside Thessaloniki and robbed him, authorities said on Friday.

According to reports, three hooded suspects jumped out of the van after the crash on the Koufalia-Halkidona national highway and pulled the man, a restaurant owner, out of his car before snatching 1,300 euros.

A video uploaded on social media shows a public bus with passengers being swept away in the town of Koufalia, in the Peloponnese, by the raging waters during the torrential downpour that struck most Greece, Tuesday. The passengers managed to escape from the vehicle’s rooftop.
