Sofia Court Leaves Ghastly Murder Case Defendant in Jail

Sofia City Court has extended the detention of Nikolay Roussinov who is a defendant for the murder of Yana Krasteva in Sofia's Borisova Gradina Park in the summer of 2011.

The decision was made on the grounds of risk of absconding, which is enough to extend the detention of Roussinov, BGNES reports.

Bulgarian National Railways 'Not Facing Bankruptcy'

The Bulgarian National Railways (BDZ) are facing nether bankruptcy nor mass layoffs, Hristiyan Krastev, the state-owned company's chief executive, said on Monday.

Krastev told the public broadcaster BNT that BDZ is still committed to reducing its huge debt, which in his words went BGN 100 M (EUR 50 M) down in 2013.

Bulgaria's State Railways to Scrap Property for BGN 19M

Deputy Prime Minister Daniela Bobeva has started negotiations with the international creditors of Bulgarian State Railways who have agreed to reschedule loans for 10 years.

The Holding's total liabilities currently amount to BGN 620M compared to BGN 704M in May, 2013, CEO Hristian Krastev told in an interview for Trud Daily.
