At least five villagers were killed in southeastern Turkey on April 8 by the terrorist organization PKK, said the local governorship.

Roadside explosives planted by the terror group hit a vehicle carrying forest workers in the rural town of Güleç in the Kulp district, said the Diyarbakır Governor's Office in a statement.

Turkish security forces neutralized at least seven YPG/PKK terrorists in northern Syria, the National Defense Ministry said on April 5.

The terrorists were neutralized in the Metina region in an air strike, the ministry said on Twitter, adding that operations would continue.

Turkish prosecutors sought an aggravated life sentence on March 26 for a suspect accused in the 2015 killing of Tahir Elçi, the former head of the Diyarbakır Bar Association, and two police officers. 

Five mayors from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) in southeastern Turkey have been detained over alleged terror links, according to local media reports.

Turkey appointed acting mayors to four municipalities in the region.

Turkey's Defense Ministry on March 16 announced that the Turkish army "neutralized" eleven YPG/PKK terrorists, who attempted to infiltrate northern Syria's territories.

Ankara prosecutors have prepared an indictment into a bombing at a tax office that took place in the capital city in 2018, filing charges against 50 suspects.

"The attack was organized in order to disrupt the military operation launched by the Turkish military in Syria's Afrin town," according to a statement made by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
