Wave sweeps woman into sea
A German woman died Sunday when she was swept by a wave in the port of Kyparissia in western Peloponnese.
The 66-year-old woman was walking with her husband along the pier when a large wave swept her into the sea. Her body was found some 500 meters away.
Strong winds and large waves have hit the area all day Sunday.

Two killed by lightning as rain wreaks widespread problems
Two people were killed by lightning in western Greece on Tuesday when a wave of bad weather swept western Greece.
The first incident involved a 35-year-old migrant worker in Lechaina, in the regional unit of Ileia in the Peloponnese.

Greek police were Thursday investigating the shooting of a German man and his wife in a summer house in Kyparissia, a town in northwestern Messinia, Peloponnese.
According to reports, the man was shot and killed in the yard, while his spouse was seriously injured.
She remained hospitalized in critical condition Thursday.
Torrential rain floods areas in southern Greece
Torrential rainfall has caused floods in areas of Ileia in southern Greece.
According to the Athens News Agency, the floods have caused disruptions on the Pyrgos-Tripoli national highway at the Strefiou intersection and on the Pyrgos-Kyparissia highway near the Kallikomo community.
