Lake Nemrut

Salda Lake in Türkiye's southwestern province of Burdur has been included in the prestigious "Top 100 Most Important Geological Heritage Sites in the World" list.

It was announced at the 37th World Geological Congress in Busan, South Korea.

The list is part of a project initiated by the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) and supported by UNESCO.

Nature photographers recently captured breathtaking images of Nemrut Crater Lake and Caldera from the summit of Mount Nemrut in the eastern province of Bitlis.

As part of the "Van Sea Swimming Festival," organized by the Van Municipality to promote Lake Van and to boost tourism, professional swimmers have swum in Nemrut Crater Lake, Türkiye's largest crater lake.

Lake Nemrut, Türkiye's largest and the world's second-largest crater lake, has become one of the best locations in the country for autumn photography, luring nature lovers with its riot of colors.

The lake, located in the eastern province of Bitlis's Tatvan district, is a "heaven for shutterbugs."

Efforts are underway to introduce the Nemrut Caldera, which is located at an altitude of 2,250 meters and welcomes thousands of local and foreign tourists every year in the eastern province of Bitlis' Tatvan district, to the world by including it in UNESCO's Global Geopark Network.
