Recognition of Macedonian language a ‘grave mistake,’ says prominent linguist

Greece committed a "grave mistake" in recognizing the existence of a Macedonian language, prominent linguist and former education minister Georgios Babiniotis said, adding that the clause in the Prespes accord signed between Athens and Skopje could encourage minority claims in the future.

2km Long Queue of Cars Formed at the Entrance of Kulata Border Checkpoint

A 2km long queue of cars has formed at the entrance of Bulgaria at Kulata border checkpoint, the press centre of Chief Directorate Border Police announced.

The information is by 06:00 local time.

The reason for the forming of the queue of cars is repairs being done on the roadway at the checkpoint.

European Scientists Taking Part In International Conference For Training in Bulgarian

Scientists from Norway, Russia, Czech Republic and other European countries are taking part in an international conference concerning 75 years of the establishment of the Institute for Bulgarian language with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, reported BNR.

Turkey Opens Macedonian-Language News Service

Anadolu's bilingual Macedonian and Albanian desk opened in Skopje on Monday as the news agency expanded its operations further into the Balkan region.

The opening ceremony was attended by Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov and Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Yalcin Akdogan. The agency's chairman, Senol Kazanci, was also present.  

Bulgarian Delegation to Honor Saints Cyril, Methodius in Rome

The Day of Bulgarian Letters, Education and Culture, May 24, Saturday, will be marked in Rome, as well.

The Bulgarian officials, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Zinaida Zlatanova, will attend on May 24 the ceremony at Vatican's Basilica of San Clemente paying tribute at the grave of St Cyril, one of the missionary brothers who created the Cyrillic alphabet in the 9th century.
