Greek bishop skips holy flame’s arrival at military airport outside his see

A lantern carrying a flame lit in Jerusalem's Holy Sepulcher Church has been welcomed to Greece with honors reserved for visiting heads of state on the eve of Orthodox Easter.

But a senior cleric boycotted the ceremony, miffed that the holy flame wasn't arriving at the airport within his territorial jurisdiction.

Chinese set drone Guinness world record (video)

1,000 drones took off to light up the night sky of the traditional Lantern Festival in Guangzhou, China. The drones flew in various formations such as Chinese characters of ‘Blessing,’ ’Lantern Festival,’ and the map of China. The performance set a Guinness World Record with the biggest number of drones involved, according to CCTV news.

As Taiwan lights up for the start of its annual lantern festival this weekend, one eco-friendly craftsman is breaking with tradition.

Lantern-maker Lin Chow-chin is part of a growing movement on the island to make the celebrations greener, creating sustainable lights which can be converted into everything from desk lamps to flower vases.
