Greek PM visits Lebanon aiming to strengthen diplomatic ties, support stability

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is visiting Lebanon, marking the first visit by a European leader since the recent ceasefire between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah, as well as developments in Syria. Lebanon accuses Israel of war crimes over strikes on journalists, hospitals

Several Lebanese ministers on Oct. 25 accused Israel of committing war crimes by targeting journalists, hospitals and rescue workers amid the U.S. push to reach a diplomatic solution in Lebanon.

The first accusation came from Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati after Israel carried out a strike in the country's south and killed three media workers.

Turkey welcomes agreement on formation of government in Lebanon

Turkey welcomed on Sept. 11 an agreement on formation of a new Cabinet in Lebanon, ending a deadlock that lasted for over a year.

"We are very pleased that an agreement has been reached on the formation of a new Cabinet in Lebanon under the leadership of Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
