Lebanese Interior Minister Nuhad Mashnuk said today that he believes Prime Minister Saad Hariri, who resigned in the weekend while being Saudi Arabia, will return to Lebanon in a few days, Reuters reported.

Turkey's national flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, signed a new cooperation agreement with Lebanon's Middle East Airlines (MEA) on May 4.        

During a ceremony at the Rafiq Hariri International Airport in Beirut, Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon Çağatay Erciyes said the deal would encourage more visitors from Turkey.        

French far-right National Front presidential candidate Marine Le Pen canceled a meeting on Feb. 21 with Lebanon's grand mufti, its top cleric for Sunni Muslims, after refusing to wear a headscarf for the encounter.

Lebanon's president asked Sunni leader Saad al-Hariri to form a new government on Nov. 3, after he won the support of a majority of MPs including the influential parliament speaker who said he would cooperate with efforts to set up the new cabinet. 

The Lebanese parliament elected former army commander Michel Aoun as president on Oct. 31, ending a 29-month presidential vacuum as part of a political deal that is expected to make Sunni Muslim leader Saad al-Hariri prime minister. 

A Lebanese military court sentenced former information minister Michel Samaha to 13 years in prison with hard labour on April 8 for attempting to carry out "terrorist acts", a judicial source told AFP.
 

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu has offered to help his Lebanese counterpart Tammam Salam in overcoming the huge garbage crisis in the country, which has shaken Salam's national unity government amid angry street protests. 

Serbia's First Deputy PM and FM has met with Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam and Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil.

This is Dacic's first visit to Lebanon, and the talks focused on "improvement in relations between the two countries."

Several Lebanese leaders on April 13 warned that the lessons of the country?s civil war should not be forgotten, 40 years after the 15-year conflict began.

April 13 marks the 40th anniversary of the 1975 conflict, in which 150,000 people were killed before a peace deal was reached in 1990.
