Dozens migrants rescued off Lesvos
Dozens of migrants were rescued from a small boat in difficulty off an eastern Aegean Sea island and a search was underway for one more person, Greek authorities said Thursday, as arrivals to the southeastern European country increase.

At least four migrants dead after boat sinks off Lesvos
At least four migrants died after their boat sank northeast of Lesvos island in the eastern Aegean, according to a report by public broadcaster ERT.
It added that nineteen others survived and were subsequently rescued by coast guard personnel. They have been securely transported to the port of Mytiline.
A search and rescue operation is currently in progress.
Greek authorities report hundreds of migrant arrivals on islands over the past three days
More than 300 migrants have arrived on Greek islands, most near the Turkish coast, over the past three days in separate incidents reported by the coast guard.
On Thursday, the coast guard said authorities had found 107 people the previous day on the islands of Samos, Mykonos and the tiny island of Ro, which lies in the Mediterranean off the southern coast of Turkey.
Coast Guard rescues 11 off Lesvos
The Hellenic Coast Guard rescued 11 people off the island of Lesvos on Wednesday after reports of a sinking vessel. At approximately 11.30 a.m. Coast Guard ships spotted the semi-submerged boat and rescued 10 men and a woman who were taken to the port of Mitylene and the Welcome and Identification Center at Kara Tepe.

Migration minister tours camps on Lesvos
Greek Migration Minister Dimitris Keridis was on his first visit to the eastern Aegean island of Lesvos since being appointed on Tuesday, touring migrant and refugee camps and meeting with local officials.

Moria arson appeal trial postponed to Wednesday
The trial in the second instance at the Mixed Jury Court of Appeal of the North Aegean regarding the arson of the Moria migrant camp on the island of Lesvos on September 9, 2020, has been deferred to Wednesday.
The four Afghan defendants have been sentenced to 10 years in prison by a criminal court on the nearby island of Chios.
