On March 5, the audience of the next Ratio event will learn more about one of the most important physical discoveries in the last century - gravitational waves

Three scientists are the winners of this year's Nobel Prize for Physics, reports Bgnes. 

The distinction is divided into two by Rainer Weiss and Barry Barish on the one hand and Kip Thorne on the other on their contribution to the work of the LIGO and the observation of the gravitational waves.

In a landmark discovery for physics and astronomy, international scientists said on Feb. 11 they have glimpsed the first direct evidence of gravitational waves, or ripples in space-time, which Albert Einstein predicted a century ago.
