The Council of Ministers has proposed that Parliament ratify a guarantee for the EUR 100 M withdrawn by the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) from Germany's KfW, reported the government's press centre.
Vgenopoulos faces felony charges over unsecured loan
The chairman of Marfin Investment Group (MIG) Andreas Vgenopoulos and 14 Marfin Bank executives were facing felony charges in connection to a loan allegedly granted to investment firm IRF, it emerged on Thursday. The firm is owned by shipowner Angeliki Frangou.

Bulgarian businessman Tsvetan Vasilev drained BGN 2.5 B out of his own bank through special purpose vehicles, consultancy firm AlixPartners says in a report made public on Tuesday.
The report had been ordered by officials to track down the assets of Bulgaria's fourth-largest lender after its insolvency was declared in 2014.

Varoufakis: "We must build trust with Germany"
"Is a matter of utmost importance for Greece to recover national sovereign, which was given to lenders, with the signing of the loan agreements," said the Greek Minister of Finance Yanis Varoufakis in an interview on Australian network ABC.
Mr. Varoufakis continued by stating that "We must build trust with Germany and to avoid generic estimates of the Greeks or the Germans".

Charges filed over loans of 38 mln euros against Proton Bank execs
A prosecutor in Athens on Friday filed felony charges against the former executives at the now defunct Proton Bank in connection with loans totaling 38 million euros.
The members of the committee responsible for approving loans are accused of breach of trust concerning credit extended to two businessmen who joined the panel from Omega Bank once it was absorbed by Proton.

Goran Percevic remanded in 30 day detention
BELGRADE - The Belgrade Higher Court remanded owner of Interkomerc Goran Percevic in 30 day detention on suspicion that he was involved in fraud in Univerzal banka worth several million dinars.
Percevic was remanded in detention because of the danger that he may exert pressure on witnesses in the course of the investigation, states the release issued by the Higher Court of Belgrade.

SDOE to probe Proton Bank loan to Thessaloniki businessman
A prosecutor in charge of investigating corruption claims in Thessaloniki, Argyris Dimopoulos, has ordered a preliminary probe a large loan issued by Proton Bank before the lender was split into parts and liquidated, the Athens-Macedonia News Agency reported on Tuesday.
