Search and rescue teams found wreckage from a crashed Japanese F-35 stealth fighter in the Pacific Ocean close to northern Japan, as efforts to find the missing pilot continued, authorities said on April 10.

Russian Su 27 fighter flew about three meters from the US Navy's P-3 Orion reconnaissance aircraft while it was flying over international air space in the Black Sea area on Monday, Washington's Examiner writes, quoted by Focus.

As the US starts to forward-deploy more of its F-35 Lightning, China and Russia have been putting the finishing touches on their own batches of fifth-generation aircraft — and they all express vastly different ideas about what the future of air combat will look like.

For the US, stealth and sophisticated networks define its vision for the future of air combat with the F-22 and F-35.

Despite the huge production costs and a plethora of set backs over the course of the many years, Lockheed Martin’s 5th generation F-35A stealth fighter jets are expected to be incorporated into the US Air-force, as well as other NATO member’s fleets.

BELGRADE - China debuted its J-20 stealth fighter Tuesday at Airshow China in the southern city of Zhuhai, VOA reports.

Two J-20s made a brief appearance in the show's opening ceremonies, performing a series of maneuvers, Reuters reported.

China showcased its Chengdu J-20 stealth fighter for the first time in public on Tuesday, sending it on a flypast over Airshow China, the country’s biggest meeting of aircraft makers and buyers in the southern city of Zhuhai.

The United States began its biggest European deployment of F-22 fighters with a visit to the Black Sea in an exercise aimed at beefing up military support for NATO's eastern European allies who say they face aggression from Russia. 

The United States soon will deploy F-22 Raptors in Europe, sending the stealth fighter jets to reassure NATO partners concerned about Russia's actions in Ukraine, a Pentagon official said on Aug. 24.

A US F-16 jet fighter crashed in Germany's Bavaria state on Tuesday but the pilot safely ejected, the U.S. Air Force said. 

The cause of the accident was not immediately known. An investigation has been launched.

The crash happened during a training flight, the 52nd Fighter Wing at Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany where the fighter aircraft was based, said in a statement.

High ranking official of the U.S. Air Force Deborah Lee James says the current situation with Russia “the biggest threat” on her mind, RT is reporting.

She also "hinted at a possible display of power that could see American military aircraft, including F-22 Raptor fighter jets, deployed to Europe."
