NBG records a 15% growth in Jan-Sept after-tax profits
National Bank of Greece posted after-tax profits of 983 million euros in the first nine months of the year, the lender announced on Thursday, recording a 15% increase year-on-year.
This is the result of the resilience of its net revenues from interest and the strong takings from commissions, the bank argued.

National Bank stake sale meets strong demand
Demand for a 10% stake sale in the National Bank of Greece (NBG) by the country's bank bailout fund was oversubscribed by six times on Monday, in the first day of a book-building process which ends later this week, two sources told Reuters.

A post-modern eyesore in the heart of historic Athens?
An indifferent today but once famous office building of post-war Athens is situated opposite the medieval Byzantine church of Kapnikarea on Ermou Street in downtown Athens. Designed by architect Nikos Valsamakis in 1958, the building introduced the innovation of the glass facade (curtain wall), which was soon emulated in many parts of the city center.
Otto’s royal regalia goes on display
The royal regalia of Otto, the Bavarian prince who ruled as king of Greece from 1832 to 1862, has gone on display in Parliament.
The artefacts, which include the king's crown, scepter and sword, were found by the Culture Ministry in the former royal summer palace in Tatoi in 2023.
