Maria Callas Museum

Having completed its first year of operation, the Maria Callas Museum in Athens has been shortlisted for the prestigious European Museum of the Year Awards (EMYA) 2025, marking its emergence as a contemporary cultural institution with a global perspective.

The Maria Callas Museum (44 Mitropoleos, mariacallasmuseum.gr) in Athens will host its second annual street party on December 7, celebrating the iconic opera singer's legacy. Petrachi Street, behind the museum, will transform into a vibrant dance  floor with a DJ set by local artists Demetra Kakounaki and Giota Kotseta. The night will mix opera classics with jazz, funk and nu-disco.

The Maria Callas Museum (44 Mitropoleos) will pay homage to the brilliant soprano on the anniversary of her death in 1977 on September 15 by offering a free concert directly opposite the museum and reduced general admission to its exhibition spaces.
