Foreign minister set to visit Greece next month

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is set to visit Athens on Nov. 8, Turkish diplomatic sources have said amid efforts to improve relations between the neighbors.

The announcement follows a meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in New York on Sept. 24, held on the sidelines of a U.N. General Assembly session.

PM Mitsotakis receives Global Citizen Award by Atlantic Council

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was honored with the Global Citizen Award by the Atlantic Council during a ceremony in New York on Monday.

The award is given by the Atlantic Council to prominent international figures, with this year's recipients including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo, and leading South Korean film producer Miky Lee.

Mitsotakis and Menendez in talks in Athens

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Bob Menendez, chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, have discussed Greek-American relations and developments in the wider region over lunch in Athens.

Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandra Papadopoulou and the US Ambassador to Greece George Tsunis also attended the lunch.

PM pledges efficiency, progress

Mitsotakis to receive mandate on Monday morning

Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou is expected to present Kyriakos Mitsotakis with the formal mandate to form a government on Monday morning after his New Democracy party's resounding victory on Sunday night.

Mitsotakis is expected at the Presidential Palace in central Athens at 11 a.m. and will be sworn in as prime minister for his second term in office at 1 p.m.
