Unique architecture of Perinthos theater revealed
Excavations that started two years ago to unearth the ancient city of Perinthos have been continuing. Among the ruins spreading over an area of 1.5 kilometers long and 500 meters wide on the hill of the ancient city, there is a theater, which is said to be the largest in the Thrace region.

Theater of ancient city to be unearthed
The theater area in the ancient city of Perinthos, which dates back to 600 B.C. in the northwestern province of Tekirdağ's Marmaraereğlisi district, will be uncovered during excavations.

The excavations will be carried out by Professor Zeynep Koçel Erdem from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University's archaeology department with archaeologists and experts in the field.

Man who spray painted Atatürk statues detained
A man who attacked and spray painted three busts of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey, in the northwestern province of Tekirdağ has been caught after police surveillance of some 2,000 hours of CCTV footage.
"The man making provocations over Atatürk has been detained," said Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu in a Twitter post late March 31, thanking the police.
