Israeli security cabinet members have been informed that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar is likely dead, according to two officials familiar with the situation. Israeli broadcasters KAN and N12 News also reported that Sinwar has been confirmed dead by various Israeli officials.

The United States has charged six senior Hamas leaders, including Yahya Sinwar, in connection with the group's deadly attack on Israel on October 7 of last year. The charges, announced by the US Justice Department on September 3, involve seven counts, including murders and kidnappings of numerous civilians, including American citizens.

Türkiye has condemned an Israeli attack on a Gaza refugee camp that reportedly resulted in the deaths of 210 Palestinians and left hundreds more wounded, according to Hamas-run media.

"We deplore the Israeli attack on the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza, which has killed hundreds of Palestinian civilians," Türkiye's Foreign Ministry said in a statement on June 9.

An Israeli strike killed 31 people in central Gaza Sunday, the Palestinian territory's civil defense agency said, as U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan visited for talks on the conflict.
