Severe Weather Warning in Most of Bulgaria

A Code Yellow alert is in force in northern, southeastern and western Bulgaria over severe weather conditions.

The warning includes 18 of Bulgaria's 28 regions.

Strong winds combined with sub-zero temperatures are expected all northwestern regions, namely Vidin, Montana, Vratsa and Pleven, according to the National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).

Code Orange Warning Issued in Bulgaria's Sofia, 3 Other Regions

Bulgaria's weather authorities have issued a Code Orange alert for Sunday with low temperatures expected in four Bulgarian regions.

The capital Sofia, Sofia-Region, Pernik and Kyustendil are affected.

Minimum temperatures will likely go below -21 degrees in the regions, according to the National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology.

Heavy Rain, Expected in Bulgaria on Tuesday, Hail Possible

Bulgaria's weather service has issued a Code Yellow warning for most of the country, with torrential rains and low temperatures in 25 of its 28 regions.

Hailstorms are possible in some of the regions affected.

In the three Black Sea regions (Varna, Burgas, and Dobrich), a separate Code Yellow alert has been issued over strong winds.

Strong South Winds Expected in Bulgaria Saturday

Bulgaria's weather forecast service has warned that strong south-southwest winds are expected in eight regions of eastern and southeastern Bulgaria on Saturday, BGNES reported.

Wind gusts of up to 22 meter per second are expected in the afternoon hours in the regions of Kardzhali, Haskovo, Yambol, Sliven, Burgas, Shumen, Dobrich and Varna.
