Prices Electricity in Romania Drop by about 3.5%
Prices of electricity for household consumers in Romania declines by about 3.5% from today, Mediafax reports.
This is after the entry into force of a new methodology for calculating tariffs, which was announced by the national regulator at the end of May.

Adrian Sarbu, under preventive arrest for 30 days
The judges of the Bucharest Court of Appeals have decided, early Wednesday morning, to dispose the preventive arrest, for 30 days, of Adrian Sarbu, who is charged in the tax evasion case of the Mediafax Group.

Adrian Sarbu, owner of the Mediafax Group, one of the largest media groups in Romania, was detained late on Monday by prosecutors for alleged involvement in a $3.4 million US tax evasion case.

Adrian Sarbu, remanded in custody by General Prosecutor's office prosecutors
Businessman Adrian Sarbu was remanded in custody on Monday, for 24 hours, by prosecutors with the General Prosecutor's office, and is accused of tax evasion, money laundering and embezzlement.

Sarbu was removed on Monday evening from the General Prosecutor's headquarters while handcuffed and was taken to a police van.
2 T Of Spoiled Meat Intercepted at BG-Romanian Border
Romanian border police intercepted a Bulgarian truck with 2 tons of spoiled chicken meat, reports Mediafax.
The driver is also Bulgarian. He refused to provide any documents for origin and ownership of the cargo.
The meat, packed in 200 boxes, was supposed to be delivered to two companies in Oltenica and Bucharest.
