Qatar Postal Service (Qatar Post) has acquired a 40 percent stake in the Turkish e-commerce platform Turkish Souq.

The deal came after President Recep Erdoğan's visit to Qatar last month, part of his three-nation Gulf tour, which also included Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Gulf leaders signed a "solidarity and stability" deal on Jan. 5 after the leaders of Saudi Arabia and Qatar publicly embraced, bringing Doha back into the regional fold after a three-year rift.

Saudi Arabia will reopen its borders and airspace to Qatar, U.S. and Kuwaiti officials said on Jan. 4, a major step towards ending a diplomatic rift that has seen Riyadh lead an alliance isolating Doha.

Turkey on Jan. 4 welcomed the end of a nearly three-year feud between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, as the two countries have agreed to reopen their airspace and borders.

"We welcome the agreement made to open land, sea, and air borders between Qatar and Saudi Arabia as of tonight," said a Turkish Foreign Ministry statement.

A contract with the Bulgarian company SAMEL-90 AD for the acquisition of combat vehicles for Bulgarian task forces will be signed at the Ministry of Defense today.

Rivals Qatar and Saudi Arabia, along with neutral Oman and Kuwait, said on Dec. 4 progress had been made towards resolving the Gulf crisis that has pitted a regional group of nations against Doha.

Turkey welcomed recent positive developments on Dec. 4 to resolve the conflict in the Gulf region. 

"We appreciate the sincere efforts of the Kuwaiti leaders who have undertaken intensive contacts and initiatives for the resolution of this dispute," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
