Golden Dawn office attacked
Police detained four people after an attack against a branch of the extreme right Golden Dawn party in Athens on Friday morning by unknown assailants.
According to initial reports, the attackers used sledgehammers to smash the windows of an adjacent bookstore after failing to break through the front door of the party's office.

Footbridges to be built over busy Athens roads
Six footbridges will be constructed over dangerous road crossings in Athens, the Infrastructure Ministry announced on Friday.
Minister Christos Spirtzis signed off on the 13-million-euro project and announced a tender.

Bus full of passengers catches fire
A bus full of passengers caught fire while serving a route on Mesogeion Avenue in Athens on Friday morning.
No was injured and the bus was evacuated in the area of Neo Psychiko once the driver realized there was a fire on board.
It was not clear what caused the fire.

Athens ready for the 33rd Marathon race on Sunday
The Athens Marathon, the Authentic Marathon, will be held on Sunday November 8, 2015. A record number of 43,000 athletes will participate in this year’s marathon.
According to race organisers, foreign participants will reach 16,000 recording a 35% increase compared with last year.

Roads to close for Athens Classic Marathon on Sunday
A number of roads will be closed in central Athens on Sunday due to the running of the 32nd Classic Athens Marathon.
Participants will be running along Marathonos Avenue and then down Mesogeion Avenue toward the Panathenaic Stadium in the city center.
Runners will also compete in 5- and 10-kilometer races.

Halandri Roma shacks to be demolished
Plans to relocate a Roma encampment in the northern Athenian suburb of Halandri are to begin on Wednesday morning with the demolition of 12 of the 26 shacks at the site, central and local government officials agreed Tuesday after hours of protests against the scheme by residents of the camp.
