The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a "yellow" code warning for intense rainfall and thunderstorm activity affecting 10 regions of the country today. The regions under this warning include Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Lovech, Montana, Pleven, Targovishte, Sofia - region, and Shumen.

A yellow code for heavy rainfall has been issued today for 13 regions in Bulgaria. These include Vidin, Vratsa, Montana, Pleven, Lovech, Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, Gabrovo, Smolyan, Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora, as well as Sofia-city and Sofia-region.

Today, most of the country will experience sunny weather, though Western and Central Bulgaria will see unstable air masses. Cumulus and cumulus-rain clouds will begin to develop before noon, leading to scattered showers and thunderstorms by the end of the day and into Thursday night. Significant rainfall is expected, particularly in mountainous regions.

On May 18, expect sunny weather with cumulus clouds forming after noon, leading to isolated rain showers in mountainous regions. Most areas will experience calm weather, with a light southeasterly wind in the east. Temperatures will range from 20°C to 25°C, slightly lower along the coast, and around 23°C in Sofia.

As May 1 dawns, Bulgarians can expect a diverse array of weather conditions across the country, ranging from sunny skies to thunderstorms and snowfall in the mountains.

Over the next 24 hours, much of the country will experience significant cloudiness, accompanied by widespread rain in Central and Eastern Bulgaria. Eastern regions may see particularly heavy rainfall. While precipitation from the north will taper off during the day, rain will persist in southern Bulgaria, with thunderstorms forecasted for southwestern regions.

Overnight, cloud cover will disperse and decrease to mostly clear skies across the western half of the country, while rain will persist in the eastern regions. A gentle to moderate breeze will blow from the west-southwest.

Overnight, expect considerable cloud cover, particularly in western regions, accompanied by showers. In Northwestern Bulgaria, expect a west-northwest wind bringing colder air. Across the rest of the country, the wind will be moderate from the south-southwest. Minimum temperatures will range from 13°C to 18°C, slightly lower in northwestern areas, with Sofia at around 13°C.
