The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a yellow code for intense rain and thunderstorms for today, May 17, for almost all of Bulgaria. Exceptions are only four districts in the north-eastern part of the country - Shumen, Silistra, Dobrich and Varna.

The temperature is expected to reach more than 30 degrees in some parts of the country, with some occurrence of sudden rain showers, the Turkish State Meteorological Services has announced.

According to the warning of meteorologist Marko ubrilo, showers and storms are expected especially over the western parts of central and southern Serbia, Srem, Mava, umadija, parts of western and southern Baka, in the south of Srem, Mava and umadija and the east of the region of central and southern Banat, Stig and Branievo.

"In Serbia today, the weather will be mostly cloudy, in places with rain and showers with thunder, with more precipitation in the afternoon and in the evening," announced the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute.
A weak and moderate wind will blow, strong in the Koava area, and occasionally stormy, southeasterly in the south of the Banat and in the lower Danube region.

Today before noon it will still be sunny, but around and after noon over Western and Central Bulgaria, and in the evening and overnight against Tuesday and over Eastern Bulgaria, cumulus and cumulus-rain clouds will develop and there will be short-term precipitation accompanied by thunder. Hail is also possible.

The weather in Bulgaria will remain mostly cloudy. Before noon, mainly in Eastern Bulgaria, and after noon in many places, there will be rain, in Southern Bulgaria and the mountainous regions - temporarily intense and accompanied by thunder. There are conditions for small hail. The wind will be weak, in Eastern Bulgaria from the east, in Western Bulgaria - mostly from the north.
