ATHEX: Growth continues as deal with creditors edges nearer
The third consecutive day of stock gains in the Greek bourse on Friday brought the weekly gains of the benchmark to 3.76 percent and those of the bank index to over 10 percent, as the government edged ever closer to fulfilling most of the demands of its creditors.

The slightly increased chances of an agreement between Athens and Greece's lenders, thanks to Eurostat figures and politicians' statements, was reflected in Tuesday's session at the local bourse, with moderate gains for the majority of stocks.

ATHEX: Greek stocks keep sliding
Despite early suggestions of a stock rebound, the Greek bourse eventually ended with significant losses on Monday, on extremely low trading volume, as an agreement between Greece and its creditors remained elusive. A technical glitch in the first few minutes of the session did not help proceedings either.

ATHEX: Greek stocks rise after PM meets Merkel
Optimists came out on top at the end of Thursday?s Athens bourse session, as the positive signs from the meeting between Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and German Chancellor Angela Merkel appeared to have give the negotiation process a boost. It was the second consecutive day of gains for the benchmark, although trading volume slipped below 100 million euros.

Small gains on low turnover in Athens bourse
The Athens stock market reopened on Tuesday after a four-day break, making moderate gains on particularly low turnover as traders are expecting the results of Wednesday?s Euro Working Group meeting as well as the outcome of the prime minister?s visit to Moscow.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 777.47 points, adding 0.80 percent to Thursday?s 771.32 points.

The honeymoon is over at the Greek bourse, as the satisfaction from the country?s deal with the eurozone appeared short-lived, with stocks falling for a second day on Thursday on news that the state is increasingly cash-starved and left-wing deputies are disputing the government?s policy.

Bumpy ride, but stocks end higher
It was a rollercoaster ride of a session at the Greek bourse on Thursday. Despite the additional concern in the market generated by the result of the first vote for a new president late on Wednesday, the local benchmark managed to recovered from afternoon losses of more than 3 percent to close with gains of almost 1.5 percent, along the lines of other European bourses.

The Greek bourse tested the waters above the benchmarks 1,000-point mark on Wednesday for the first time in a week, and decided to stay below the psychologically key level with marginal losses for most indices, albeit with a satisfactory trading volume.

Sixth straight day of losses for bourse
Investor uncertainty in Athens continued to push the benchmark index to new 12-month lows on Wednesday the sixth losing session for most local stocks but at least it remained above the crucial 1,000-point level.
