Security forces have seized at least 500 kilograms of marijuana in drug operations on Aug. 6.

Mexico's most popular holiday hotspot has become overrun with drug gangs, as violence in the tourist party town escalates to unprecedented levels.

Cancun has seen 14 murders in just 36 hours — the highest ever in the country's recorded history, according to Noticaribe.

At least six people were killed and 20 were injured in clashes in a Bolivian prison.

The turmoil began when hundreds of policemen arrived there and tried to search the building. However, some prisoners attacked the police.

Authorities note that firearms, alcohol distillers as well as large amounts of cocaine and marijuana were found in the jail.

Police stormed a riot-torn prison in Bolivia March 14, killing six inmates in an operation that also left two dozen people injured, authorities said.

This is the result of a joint operation by the Serbian and Spanish police.

The police in Argentina seized nearly 10 tons of marijuana worth $ 20 million, Security Minister announced, quoted by DPA. Marijuana was hidden in a  truck stationed in San Jose, 850 miles northeast of Buenos Aires.

Three people are arrested.

An official competition investigation committee has demanded that seven out of 13 global banks probed in Turkey for violating competition rules be fined up to 4 percent of their sales revenue, on the grounds that their actions “amounted to the acts as a cartel.”
