Members of the Interior Ministry (MUP) on Thursday seized drugs, weapons, and cars, and arrested nine suspects in three separate operations.

Istanbul police on Feb. 8 seized at least 40 kilograms of drugs during a raid on a narcotics gang that observed the operation using drones.

Anti-drug police teams raided the suspected address in Istanbul's Eyüp district while the gang was trying to dispatch the drugs.

A special police operation aimed against the distribution of drugs and prostitution on the territory of Varna has been carried out on Friday night, reported the police press centre.

During the operation, several addresses were checked. Various documents revealing criminal activity, drugs and a large sum of money have been confiscated.

Police in Thesprotia, northwestern Greece, on Tuesday were questioning a 47-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman after a search of their car turned up more than 56 kilograms of cannabis.

The pair was arrested following a routine inspection on Monday near the village of Vrysella close to the border with Albania.
