Bulgaria Police Find Grenade Launchers Used in Sofia Attack

Police in Bulgaria's capital Sofia have found the two grenade launchers used in a Friday attack on a former counter-intelligence agent, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry has said.

No-one was injured in the attack which occurred in broad daylight, with the agent, Alexei Petrov, claiming he was not being targeted and his car was hit "by mistake".

Public transit bus set on fire in central Istanbul

A group of masked people set a public bus on fire in Istanbul's Ata?ehir district late July 29. No casualties were reported.

The group set the bus ablaze, throwing Molotov cocktails after they stopped it in Ata?ehir's Mustafa Kemal neighborhood and asked its passengers and driver to evacuate around 10:30 p.m. on July 29.

New amendment to permit civilian officers in army, report says

The Turkish Armed Forces' (TSK) new amendment on employing civilian officers for military positions requiring specific qualifications will alter the superior-subordinate relationship as it will allow chief civilian officers to command their military subordinates, daily Habertürk reported June 16.
