Turkish Media on Bulgaria's Snap Elections
Corruption, social inequality, xenophobia and hatred of foreigners on the one hand and, on the other hand, pressure, rudeness and obstacles against Turks with dual citizenship who wanted to go to Bulgaria in order to vote there, wrote the online edition Haberler and added that there was tension, discontent and scandals due to the insufficient number of voting sections in Turkey.

Religious beliefs and practices used to be private
The year was 1969; the incident I am going to tell happened that year during the beginning of an election campaign. Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy Ali İhsan Göğüş paid a visit to party chair İsmet İnönü at his home and presented the candidate list to him that was to be handed over to the election council. Two journalists were accompanying him.

Veteran journalist Nail Güreli passes away
Veteran journalist Nail Güreli has died at the age of 84 on Oct. 26 in Istanbul, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
Turgay Olcayto, the head of the Turkish Journalists' Association, which Güreli headed between 1994 and 2001, issued a statement expressing his condolences.

Publishing photo of gambling son 'probably not innocent,' says Turkish minister
Turkey's transportation minister has weighed in on a debate which started slightly over a week ago, after Turkish daily Sözcü printed a photo of his son playing roulette at a Singapore casino, expressing his disbelief in the "innocence" of the story while stressing he lacked the evidence to accuse a particular individual.
Arrested Turkish journalists released after 92 days in prison
Cumhuriyet Editor-in-Chief Can Dündar and the daily's Ankara bureau chief, Erdem Gül, were released early on Feb. 26 following 92 days in prison on terrorism charges, hours after the country's top court's ruled their arrest had violated their rights.
