"Increasing the minimum wage could boost domestic demand, increasing household income, and so it would have an effect on tax revenues," S&P credit analyst Aarti Sakhuja said in an interview with Anadolu Agency.

Greeks receiving the minimum wage will have to work for more than 60 hours per week in order to keep a three- or four-member family above the poverty level, according to a study by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on the minimum salary in its member-states.

Bulgaria Registers Increase in Average Monthly Wage at End of 2014
The average monthly wage in Bulgaria in the last quarter of 2014 was BGN 847, which represents an increase of 4.7 % compared to the previous quarter.
This is revealed from the latest data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), which was released on Thursday.
