Serbia's Kecmanovic through to Australian Open second round

MELBOURNE - Serbian tennis player Miomir Kecmanovic is through to the Australian Open second round after a 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Japanese Yosuke Watanuki in Melbourne on Monday.

World number 60 Kecmanovic won after two hours and 37 minutes of play.

Watanuki is placed 102nd in the ATP rankings.

Kecmanovic will next face German Jan-Lennard Struff.

Djokovic beats Norrie to secure Davis Cup semi-final slot for Serbia

MALAGA - Novak Djokovic beat Briton Cameron Norrie 6-4, 6-4 on Thursday evening to secure a semi-final slot for Serbia at the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga.

Djokovic won after a hundred minutes of play.

Earlier in the afternoon, Miomir Kecmanovic defeated Jack Draper to give Serbia a 1-0 lead in the tie.

Serbia Davis Cup team trains in Malaga ahead of match vs Great Britain

MALAGA - The Serbia Davis Cup team completed a training session in Malaga ahead of Thursday's tie against Great Britain in the Davis Cup Finals quarter-finals.

The training session was led by head coach Viktor Troicki and Janko Tipsarevic, a recent addition to the coaching staff.

BELGRADE - The head coach of the Serbia men's national tennis team Viktor Troicki on Monday announced the Serbia squad for the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga, the Tennis Association of Serbia said.

In a statement, it said Troicki had made one change in the lineup compared to the Davis Cup tournament in Valencia, replacing Nikola Cacic with Hamad Medjedovic.

Kecmanovic through to second round of Toronto Masters

TORONTO - Serbian tennis player Miomir Kecmanovic is through to the second round of the Toronto Masters after beating Chilean Cristian Garrin 7-6 (2), 4-6, 6-4 in the opening round on Monday.

Kecmanovic, who is the only Serbian contestant at the tournament, won after two hours and 48 minutes of play.

He will next face Hubert Hurkacz of Poland.

Lajovic, Kecmanovic suffer early Wimbledon exits

LONDON - Serbians Dusan Lajovic and Miomir Kecmanovic are both out of Wimbledon following first round defeats in the men's singles event on Monday.

Lajovic lost to Briton Jan Choinski 5-7, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2, 6-2 after two hours and 37 minutes of play, while Kecmanovic was defeated by Argentine Diego Schwartzman 6-0, 6-3, 6-4 after two hours and six minutes of play.
