New highway code: Zigzags banned for two-wheelers, wedges allowed in traffic jams

“They’re just kids, let them ride.” That excuse won’t hold anymore. Under the new Road Traffic Code, parents must be more cautious about allowing their children to use electric scooters. Scooters with a top speed exceeding 6 km/h are now banned for minors under 15.

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Vasilis Oikonomou, outlined the proposed changes in the upcoming New Traffic Code (KOK), soon to enter public consultation. The revisions aim to enhance road safety through reduced speed limits, updated regulations for electric scooters and tougher penalties for violations.

Madrid: Electric scooter rental companies must remove them by October 25th

After revoking their licenses last month, the city stated that the three foreign companies (Lime, Dott, and Tier Mobility) failed to enforce rules on how customers operate the scooters or where they park them.

As a result, the companies have not regained their licenses.
