Man takes own life by jumping off flyover
A 57-year-old man committed suicide early on Sunday by jumping off a flyover in Vrilissia, northeastern Athens.
Authorities were called after a car caught fire in a nearby tunnel on the Attiki Odos. The vehicle belonged to the 57-year-old.

Police seize 186 kilos of cannabis
Acting on a tip-off, police stopped a car on the Igoumenitsa-Ioannina highway in northwestern Greece on Monday that was laden with 186.5 kilos of cannabis.
The drug was packed into 176 bundles that were hidden in the boot of the car and under the back seat. The 34-year-old Albanian man who was driving the car was arrested.

Stormy weather expected in northwest, central Greece
The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (www.hnms.gr) on Wednesday issued a warning of a shift in warm weather starting in the northwest of the country with rain, thunderstorms as well as snow in mountainous areas.
Bishop Theoklitos of Ioannina dies
Greek Bishop Theoklitos of Ioannina, who died on Sunday at the age of 83, is to be buried Wednesday.
He had recently been hospitalized at the Ioannina University hospital for an unspecified illness.
Born in 1930 in Thessaloniki, Theoklitos became metropolitan bishop of Ioannina in 1975.

Unknown assailants attack students at Macedonia University
Two students at the University of Macedonia, which is based in Thessaloniki, were being treated in the hospital on Thursday for injuries sustained during an assault on Wednesday night by a group of youths who broke into the university campus and used iron bars to attack students and vandalize property.
