According to the chronicler of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral Jovan Markus, Nikolic did this to remove the epitaph that referred to his grandfather as a Serb hero.

Markus told Srna news agency that the grave of officer Stanisa Nikolic, who had been awarded the Obilic Medal, is located near a church in Ozrinic, close to the town of Niksic, daily Blic is reporting.

Medojevic was taken from the Assembly to the Spuz prison, near Podgorica.

Medojevic was jailed on the order of the president of the Higher Court Boris Savic, because he has been for several months refusing to give a statement in a case against him.

After media reported on Thursday that Montenegrin police have barred four Serbian cultural, academic and legal figures from entering the country, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic condemned the decision and vowed to respond. 

"The crossing of the state border, beside Beckovic, has also been denied to historians Cedomir Antic and Aleksandar Rakovic, as well as Serbian politician and lawyer Dejan Mirovic," the daily Dan was told by the Border Police.

Officials and politicians in Serbia on Sunday condemned Podgorica's decision to ban ceremonies marking the 100th anniversary of the unification of Serbia and Montenegro.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said he doesn't understand the decision, which he said prohibits people in Montenegro from "thinking differently and having a different view of the past".

The Serbian National Council, the body representing Serbs in Montenegro, on Thursday asked permission to use the main hall of the Montenegrin National Theater to celebrate the unification of Serbia and Montenegro - an event that the government believes should not be celebrated at all.

According to the interpretation by the current Montenegro government and some historians, the Great National Assembly of the Serb People in Montenegro in 1918, known as Podgorica Assembly was organized contrary to the former Montenegro Constitution and its legal system.

Milo Djukanovic, who has dominated politics in Montenegro as president and prime minister for almost three decades, is running for another presidential term as voters cast their ballots in Sunday's election.

"Montenegro is at this moment as well with the United Kingdom and supports its efforts to defend its sovereignty and security for its citizens," the Montenegrin government said on Twitter.

Skripal and his daughter were found last week in an unconscious state on a bench in the town of Salisbury.

This has been stated by Ivica Dacic, Serbia's first deputy PM and foreign minister, who spoke for TV PinkM during his two-day visit to Montenegro this week.

Dacic added that the Serb House (in Podgorica) should be solely engaged in the preservation of the cultural identity of the Serb people (in Montenegro).
