One injured in three car pile-up in southern Athens

One person was lightly injured in a three car pile-up that occurred just before midnight Wednesday in Limanakia, a seaside area of Vouliagmeni, southern Athens.

The driver of a car traveling from Varkiza to Athens lost control of the vehicle, hit another car, which then collided with a third. 

The area of Limanakia is known for unofficial drag racing late at night. 

Three injured in car pileup in southern Athens

Three individuals sustained minor injuries after a nine-vehicle pileup on Alimou Avenue in southern Athens at its junction with Vouliagmenis Avenue. 

One of the injured was extricated from her vehicle by firefighters using a rescue rope.

The accident has caused traffic congestion on Alimou Avenue, at the intersection with Vouliagmenis Avenue.

Over 20 injured in 24-vehicle pileup in İzmit

A multiple-vehicle collision involving as many as 24 vehicles on a busy highway in the northwestern province of İzmit near Istanbul left at least 21 people injured on May 31. 

The accident occurred at around 5 a.m. when a truck driver heading toward Istanbul lost control of his vehicle, which rolled over on the Anadolu highway.

Massive Chain-Reaction Crash Involving almost 70 Vehicles in Virginia (PHOTO)

The thick fog and icy road on a state highway in the US state of Virginia caused a massive chain-reaction crash involving 69 vehicles, BTA reported.

There were no casualties, but several were critically injured, according to local police. About 35 to 50 people were taken to nearby hospitals.

Local television reported that two of the victims were in life-threatening condition.
