In several municipalities in the country, school classes were suspended due to complicated traffic conditions, difficult access to schools or a large number of absent pupils.

As of today, a flu epidemic has been declared for the municipalities of Aksakovo, Beloslav, Provadia, Valchi Dol, Vetrino, Dolni Chiflik, Byala, Suvorovo, Avren, Dalgopol and Devnya, in the Varna region.

The health authorities have recommended the suspension of school classes from today until February 6, the Ministry of Health said.

A flu epidemic and vacation has been announced in more areas of the country. School classes from today will not take place in Vratsa, Montana, Varna, Rousse, Kyustendil and Sliven, BNT reported.

A flu epidemic is announced tomorrow, January 27, on the territory of Sofia-city, the Health Ministry announced.

The Regional Regional Health Inspectorate of Sofia has issued a prescription to the Sofia-city Regional Education Authority to stop the school classes from January 29, Monday, until the end of the school week - 2 February.

Unknown vandals threw stones at one of the new trains of BDZ near Kyustendil, reports Sega. 

Damage is estimated at BGN 12,000. Fortunately, there are no injured people. The incident took place near Kyustendil, and the train arrived from Sofia.

Hurricane wind, accompanied by torrential rain and hail, caused serious damage this night in Ruse. Roads were blocked, settlements were left without electricity. There is also a problem with rail transport. The hydro-meteorological station reported that in Ruse this night there was 28.6 liters/sq. m rain and wind speeds reached 122 km/h. The storm lasted for about an hour.
