Mystery unravelled behind Bösendorfer caught in whirlwind of history
A grand piano that laid abandoned in a corner of a studio at Radio Slovenija until just over a decade ago is the main protagonist in a film that premiered at Ljubljana's Kinodvor on 4 January, 79 years after the piano's erstwhile owners were executed by the Partisan secret police.

Tartini Festival gets under way in coastal town Piran
Piran – The 21st Tartini Festival will start in the seaside town of Piran tonight with a concert by I Solisti Veneti at Minorite Monastery dedicated to the 330th birth anniversary of the Piran-born composer Giuseppe Tartini (1692-1770). Another highlight will be a performance by Italian violinist Fabio Biondi on Wednesday.

Landlord becomes ‘guest’ of his tenants
In an incident first of its kind, a landlord in the western province of İzmir, has started living in his house with his tenants, waiting for them to leave.
"I am like a guest of my renters," 50 year-old Engin Alkan told the daily Milliyet on Aug. 14.

President decorates five musicians
Ljubljana – President Borut Pahor awarded five Slovenian musicians with honours at a ceremony held in the Presidential Palace on Thursday. The Order of Merit was awarded to Miha Dovžan, Vlado Kreslin, Vladimir Lado Leskovar, Oto Pestner and Andrej Šifrer, the president’s office said.

Percussionist becomes influencer with goblet drum
The coronavirus pandemic hit the entertainers the most, one of them being a female percussion artist who had to resign from her orchestra, but little did she know that her videos of playing the goblet drum would make her a social media sensation.
"People getting astonished while seeing me play goblet drum gives me a kick," Ceren Özdemir said.

Rare Stradivarius sells for near-record $15.3 million
A rare Stradivarius violin that belonged to a Russian-American virtuoso and was used in the "Wizard of Oz" soundtrack sold at auction in New York for $15.3 million, just below the record for such an instrument, according to auction house Tarisio.
