Turkey could become a natural gas hub with its LNG terminals at the border of Greece and Bulgaria, according to an official from BOTAŞ, Turkey’s state-run gas pipeline company.

Ukraine plans to build a pipeline able to supply about 8 billion cubic metres of European gas through Poland, Ukrainian news agency UNIAN reported on Wednesday.

According to Radoslav Dudzinsky, member of the management board of Polish company Polenergia which is helping develop the project, the estimated cost of the construction of the 110-km main pipeline is about USD 245 M.

The agreement to go on with the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP) was signed in Turkey's biggest city Istanbul.

Six Turkish companies are to supply most (80%) of the steel pipes needed for the 1800-km-long pipeline, Hürriyet Daily News reports.

The remainder will be provided by German-based Chinese Baosteel Europe.

A total of six Turkish companies have won the tender to supply 80 percent of the steel pipe demand of the 1,800 km-long TANAP pipeline that will carry Azerbaijani gas to Europe via Turkey.

Sunday's vote for parliament will determine whether Bulgaria will continue to build the Moscow-backed South Stream gas pipeline - a project opposed by the EU, the AP has said.

BRUSSELS- The EU will not interfere in the construction of the South Stream pipeline section through Serbia, but the pipeline will begin operating only after it has been adjusted to European legislations, the European Commission released on Wednesday.

The European Commission has called on Bulgaria to suspend the construction of the South Stream gas pipeline, warning that it may take punitive measures against Sofia and Belgrade over the matter.
