Meimarakis: Current parliament must form government

The leader of New Democracy, Greece’s main opposition party, Vangelis Meimarakis said on Monday he would reconsider his party’s support to the upcoming bills in parliament, following the revelations of former Greek Finance Minister Yanis varoufakis’s plan B that involved hacking millions of citizens’ tax codes.
Meimarakis to serve as ND president until spring; same party election process
A compromise has more-or-less been reached in terms of main opposition New Democracy’s leadership, with current interim president Vangelis Meimarakis expected to serve until the spring of 2016 until a party election.
However, the same election process will be employed, namely, election by the party’s grass roots.

ND’s Samaras, former PM, resigns in wake of ‘no’ vote
New Democracy (ND) president Antonis Samaras announced his resignation on Sunday evening in the wake of the landslide “no” vote in the same-day referendum .
The former prime minister said that ex-parliament president Vangelis Meimarakis will take over the post as a transitional party president until a party congress is convened to elect a new ND leader.

Greeks are determined to decide their own destiny in Sunday's bailout referendum, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said after casting his ballot in Athens.
