Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen resigned on April 7 amid President Donald Trump's growing frustration and bitterness over the number of Central American families crossing the southern border.

The United States will take "extraordinary" protective measures to deal with a surge of immigrant children in custody, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said on Dec. 26 after a second Guatemalan child died in custody.

US Senate upgrades security expert Kirstjen Nielsen to Secretary of Homeland Security by 62 to 37 votes, DPA reported.

The Danish Institute in Athens is hosting a free screening of the 1910 landmark silent film "The Abyss" by Urban Gad, starring Asta Nielsen in a stunningly natural performance that helped earn the Danish actress international stardom - though it also got the film banned in Norway and Sweden, where it was considered too risque.

Danish actress Connie Nielsen will be one of the guests to be welcomed at the 53rd Antalya Film Festival, where she will attend the opening night. 
Nielsen's latest film "The Confessions" is one of the films to compete in the International Film Competition category. 

The film's first screening will be on Oct. 18 at 12 p.m. at the Antalya Cultural Center (AKM).
