Staikouras: We have stabilized the economy
Infrastructure and Transport Minister Christos Staikouras, Deputy Environment and Energy Minister Alexandra Sdoukou and the founder and chief executive of Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN), Nikolas Tsakos, were among the Greek officials attending the "Greek American Issuer Day" event at the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday.

Cyprus greets Marine Academy on Chios
The qualitative upgrading of maritime education is of primary importance, Cyprus' Deputy Minister of Shipping Marina Hatzimanolis said recently in Greece, at the opening ceremony of the Merchant Marine Academy of Chios, held under the auspices of the Tsakos Group and the Maria Tsakos Foundation.

The 22nd Capital Link Invest in Greece Forum, "Greece - Looking Ahead With Confidence," opened on December 15 and will continue until the 16th, in digital form, in cooperation with the New York Stock Exchange and major global investment banks and organizations.
Citi and Tsakos Energy Navigation have been the lead sponsors of the Forum for 12 years in a row now.

Greece's first private nautical studies school opens on Chios
The new school season in Greece comes this week with the inauguration of the first private professional lyceum, for teenagers aged from 14 to 17 years old, on Chios island that has a specific direction toward maritime professions.
The aim is to steer the local youth back toward the island's glorious sea tradition.
Ibero-American Literature | Athens | June 9
The inauguration of the 10th installment of the Ibero-American Literature Festival in Athens (LEA) - aimed at promoting intercultural dialogue between Greece and the countries of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America - takes place at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) on Saturday, June 9. The event will start at 7 p.m.

The day after for refugee NGOs on Greece's islands
Nikos Tsakos may be 32 years old but he's only known what he wants to do when he grows up - what he's good at, the thing that will give his life meaning - for a few months. He started in the field he studied - information technology - but the firm he worked for in Athens went bankrupt and Nikos was forced to go back home, to the island of Chios.
