Serbs from Gornji Kusac, Vitina, Kosovska Kamenica and other places where Serbs live in Kosovo Pomoravlje already went to the polls in large numbers from 4:30 a.m. to fulfill their civic duty.

Congratulating another state on its statehood day while in the same breath negating its perceived statehood - by calling on it to recognize a polity that broke away from that state against its (continuing) firm wishes - is bizarre, to say the least.

The Serbian government has appointed a French national, Arnaud Gouillon, head of the organisation Solidarité Kosovo - known for his far-right views and humanitarian activities among Kosovo's Serbian minority - to head its Office for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region.

"Serbs on Kosovo and Metohija presently need unity and the support of the Serbian state to survive and preserve their state and national interests", it is said in a statement of Civic Initiative SDP, carried by Kosovo online.

It has been stated that it is crucial that tangible results are achieved in judicial reform, anti-corruption and media freedoms.

The European Parliament has also adopted six of the eight proposed amendments to the document compiled by European Parliament Rapporteur for Serbia David McAllister.

At the fifth joint meeting of the governments of Albania and Kosovo in Peja, in Kosovo, the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama backed the decision of the Kosovo government to raise the tax on imports from Serbia and Bosnia from 10 to 100 per cent.

"US citizens should exercise caution at holiday festivals and events around the Catholic and Orthodox Easter celebrations," said a security alert posted on the embassy's website, and added:

"Extremists continue to focus on tourist locations, shopping malls, bars, houses of worship, and other soft targets. Please exercise additional vigilance in these and similar locations."

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic claimed the murdered Kosovo Serb politician Oliver Ivanovic had a long-standing conflict with a businessman who is allegedly powerful in Mitrovica, where the killing happened.

According to RTS - which cited the Pristina-based website Kallxo - the court decided to dismiss the indictment for war crimes against Ivanovic, a Serb politician from northern Kosovo.
