Students from Rutgers University in the northeastern US state of New Jersey help prepare a meal for the poor and homeless at the Church of Evangelistria in the seaside town of Nafplio in the eastern Peloponnese on Thursday.

A heartbreaking video has emerged showing a rescued dog that is so traumatised it does dare to look at people and sits in the corner of the room staring at the wall.

The video was shared by the Irish charity PAWS Animal Rescue and shows Cara sitting in the corner of the kennel and refusing to turn round even though the caring workers were gently calling her.
