BELGRADE - The Tourism Organization of Serbia (TOS) will showcase the country's tourism potential in the UK's biggest and longest-running travel show Destinations, taking place in London from January 29 to February 1.

Member of DS party presidency detained, then released
NOVI SAD -- A member of the Democratic Party (DS) presidency and vice-president of the Assembly of Vojvodina, Milivoj Vrebalov, was detained on Monday.
He was released early on Tuesday after a court in Zrenjanin, in the province of Vojvodina, decided there were "no elements" to keep him in jail for up to 30 days.
73rd anniversary of Novi Sad raid
NOVI SAD - The 73rd anniversary of the Novi Sad raid, when Hungarian fascists killed more than 1,300 Serbs, Jews and Roma in only 3 days in January 1942, was marked in Novi Sad on Friday.
Serbia's Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic and Autonomous Province of Vojvodina Parliament Speaker Istvan Pastor laid wreaths at the memorial called Family and dedicated to the victims of the raid.

Unexploded missiles and bombs in Sava and Danube
JAGODINA - A large number of unexploded missiles and bombs have been lying in the Sava and the Danube since NATO's bombing campaign against Yugoslavia in the 1999 and surveys of other waterways suspected of pollution from various types of explosives are under way, head of Serbia's Mine Action Centre Branislav Jovanovic has told Tanjug.

Serbia at Stuttgart tourism expo for 4th time
BELGRADE - The Tourism Organisation of Serbia (TOS) will organise the country's presentation at the Stuttgart tourism expo CMT January 17-25 for the fourth time.
The presentation will include the country's entire offer with emphasis on culture, short holidays in cities, mostly Belgrade and Novi Sad, and the Danube, especially the Danube bicycle route.

The incident happened at 24.30 EET near Backa Topola in Serbia.

Bank robber arrested after shooting at police
NOVI SAD -- The police in the town of Novi Sad on Friday disarmed and arrested a bank robber who previously opened fire on them, the 021.rs website is reporting.
According to this, the suspect first attempted to rob a bank in the central part of Novi Sad and then escaped the scene in a Hyundai car with Becej plates.
