European Parliament calls on Turkey to halt nuclear plant
The European Parliament at a plenary session in Strasbourg on Thursday adopted a resolution on Turkey that calls on Ankara to abandon its plans to build Turkey’s first Akkuyu nuclear power plant. A total of 477 MEPs voted for the non-binding resolution, 64 against.
Explosion occurs at nuclear power plant in France
An explosion occurred at French utility EDF's Flamanville nuclear plant on Feb. 9 in which there may have been some injuries but from which there was no nuclear risk, French newspaper Ouest France reported on its web site, citing local police.

Bulgarian Energy Minister Confident about Belene Privatization
If a procedure to privatize the Belene nuclear power plant (NPP) project takes place, it will certainly be successful, Bulgarian Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova has said.
"We can only saw what the real investment interest is after a privatization procedure," Petkova has told the Bulgarian National Television in an interview.
